TWO cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed at a Llandudno school today.
Conwy County Borough Council (CCBC) officials say the NHS Wales Test, Trace, Protect scheme has been informed of both cases at Ysgol John Bright.
The school is working closely with Public Health Wales, the Local Authority and the NHS Wales Test, Trace and Protect (TTP) to ensure that all the appropriate measures are in place to protect learners, staff and the wider community.
All students in Year 7 and Year 9 have been informed that they should self-isolate for 14 days, and that their learning will continue from home during that period.
They are advised to remain alert for any symptoms of the virus, including:
- new or continuous cough
- a high temperature
- a loss of or change to sense of smell or taste
If anyone has these symptoms they should self-isolate for 10 days from onset, and their household for 14 days from onset - you should arrange a test if you are symptomatic.
- A test can be booked by phoning 119 or through the online portal
If the result of that test is negative and your symptoms have ceased you can come out of isolation.
If your test results are positive, you will be contacted by a member of the North Wales Test, Trace and Protect team with further advice.
The school remains open to all other students.
