MOTORISTS are being warned to expect delays on their journey on the A23 over roadworks.
A three-mile tailback has been reported on the northbound carriageway from Brighton to Crawley this morning.
It follows roadworks there at the weekend.
Drivers are warned that it may add 20 minutes onto the journey time.
It follows long weekend delays reported a week ago while roadworks were carried out near Hickstead. Motorists reported being stuck for several hours during the day.
Today, The Argus traffic guide said: "One lane closed and queueing traffic for three miles due to roadworks on A23 Northbound at A2300 (Hickstead).
"Congestion to the Muddleswood turn-off. Travel time is 20 minutes. This stretch of road was closed off all weekend for roadworks but re-opened in the early hours of this morning.
"However, a lane remains closed, causing delays to traffic heading from Brighton towards Crawley."
