Co-ordinators of an arts festival have announced they have had to postpone some shows due to concerns about coronavirus.

Watford Fringe, a four-day festival of music, comedy, theatre across more than 45 events is set to return this week.

As part of Watford Borough Council's Watford Together scheme, the Pump House Theatre and Arts trust's Watford Fringe will start from October 1.

Some shows in the festival were due to take place at the Pump House Theatre but co-ordinators have said it has had to postpone some performances after speaking with the local Environment Health Authority about the concerns of coronavirus.

They said the event is still going ahead but 11 shows have been moved online between October 2 and October 4, with others being moved to later dates between October 8 and October 25.

The postponed shows will take place at the Pump House Theatre and Watford Museum. Those who visit will have to adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Co-ordinators said some shows had to be withdrawn from the festival but ticket holders will be contacted and refunds will be given for any cancelled shows.
