A further coronavirus death has been recorded at West Hertfordshire Hospitals Trust, latest official figures show.

NHS England figures show 389 people had died in hospital at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust as of 5pm on Sunday (October 18).

The latest reported death of a patient who tested positive for Covid-19 happened on Friday (October 16).

It is the 13th coronavirus death at the trust in October - the most in the east of England. 

Deaths also occurred on October 1, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 15, and 16th.

The number of deaths since September 25 (15) is more than the total number in the rest of September, August, July, and half of June. 

In today's national update from NHS England, 76 deaths were reported, which included the one in West Hertfordshire on Friday.

Patients were aged between 47 and 99.

All patients except one, aged 85, had known underlying health conditions. 

The majority of the 76 deaths occurred in the north east of England and Yorkshire (25) and north west (24).
