Police are investigating an incident where thieves attempted to break into a house in the early hours.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says it was called at 4.30am this morning (October 20) to a report of an attempted burglary in Ridge Lane, North Watford.
It was reported that three men had tried to force open the side-gate of a property with a crow bar before being disturbed and fleeing.
Police said a crow bar was left at the scene.
Officers, assisted by the dog unit, arrived and the area was searched, although none of the men were found.
Police said further lines of enquiry have been identified and will be investigated.
