Another school in Colchester has asked pupils to self-isolate after a positive case of coronavirus.

Willow Brook Primary School, off Barnardiston Road, Colchester, confirmed it had recorded positive cases of Covid-19 in a letter to parents yesterday.

Headteacher Joanna Ronayne said: "We have been made aware of members of our school community who have tested positive for Covid-19.

"We know that you may find this concerning, but we are continuing to monitor the situation and are weorking closely with Public Health England.

"This letter is to inform you of the current situation and provide advice on how to support your child.

"Please be reassured that for most people, coronavirus will be a mild illness.

"The children who have been in close contact with the individual who has tested positive for coronavirus have received a letter informing them that their child must stay at home for 14 days.

"The school remains open and your child should continue to attend as normal if they remain well, as they have not been in direct contact."

The letter adds advice to parents if their child develops symptoms of Covid-19.

Yesterday, the Gazette reported some students at Philip Morant School and College were in isolation after a positive case of Covid 19.
