On the day millions fell silent to mark Armistice Day, we look back to a time when the people of Watford lined the streets as soldiers paraded or marched through the town.
Taken during or around the time of the First World War, these emotive images have been shared in the Watford Observer’s nostalgia Facebook group 'We grew up in Watford' by Steve Anthony.
Scroll down this page and you will see troops marching through some town centre locations, including past the pond and Beechen Grove.
The popularity of 'We grew up in Watford' continues to grow and the group now has more than 2,800 members.
