- A section of the M25 was closed for hours after a lorry crashed into a barrier.

- Police warned drivers of delays to their journeys after a single-vehicle collision which happened at around 12.30am (Tuesday November 17)

- A lorry smashed into a barrier between junctions 21A for Bricket Wood and 22 for London Colney, and a full closure was put in place clockwise between these junctions.

- As well as sustaining significant damage, the fuel tank of the lorry ruptured causing fuel to spill over the M25.

- Fortunately, the driver only sustained minor injuries and no other vehicles were involved.

- The lorry was later recovered and the road was cleaned up.

- The motorway closure caused major traffic delays this morning, particularly in the St Albans area, with the A414, A405, and A1081 all affected, along with the M25 from Watford.

- The M25 reopened at around 8.30am, but traffic remains heavy in the area at this time.
