Two children enjoy looking back at The Pond on a sunny day
There can be few more recognisable features in Watford town centre than The Pond.
The area of water towards the end of the High Street closest to the Town Hall has undergone several changes in appearance over the years, but the selection of pictures on this page show it has been enjoyed by Watfordians for more than a century.
The collection of old postcards and images were shared by Richard Massara in the Watford Observer's nostalgia Facebook group 'We grew up in Watford'.
