    More than six miles of the M1 southbound was closed as air ambulance and police attended an incident.

  • All three lanes on the southbound carriageway were closed between Junction 4 (Elstree/Edgware) and Junction 1 (Brent Cross) this afternoon.

  • Met Police said it was called shortly before 2pm today as a man was injured after falling from a height around the Hendon area in London.

  • Police, London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended the scene.

  • A man, believed to be in his 60s, was taken to hospital and he remains there in a critical condition.

  • Traffic in the southbound carriageway is being diverted and police enquiries continue.
