Rickmansworth Recycling Centre has been temporarily shut by police after long queues.
The recycling centre on Riverside Drive, Rickmansworth had to close early today (December 31) following advice from police.
Hertfordshire Constabulary decided to shut the recycling centre after long queues were built up that increased the “risk” of an accident happening.
In a post shared on Facebook, police said: “This is due to the amount of people not adhering to the safety signs that were put in place to help reduce the traffic building up around the local area and to reduce the risk of an accident from happening.”
Hertfordshire County Council says the site will reopen on Saturday (January 2).
The constabulary were approached for further comment.
