Good morning 2021.

You have arrived and you bring us new hope and new opportunities. Your predecessor 2020 has not allowed many to join you, and enjoy their friends and relations.

2021, what you give us will depend on what we give. Although your old sister 2020 is gone and left many scars and wounds it did throw new light on the generosity and compassion that is within the human spirit. It helped us to recognise our common unity, our humanity.

2020 also taught us the value of service that we so often had taken for granted and did not value the people who offered it to us. It further made us realise that the function of a janitor, a cleaner, or nurse and others who serve us is of great value to society and happier life for all.

Dear 2021, we recognise things will change and some things must change and you offer us a whole year to review our values individually and as one people within this beautiful creation.

I pray you will be the happy New Year we have been waiting for.
