A primary school in Watford has welcomed its new head teacher.
Katie Bentham, who has been a head teacher for nearly a decade, says she was drawn by a "diverse and vibrant community" as she began her new role at Central Primary School.
She has worked in a range of schools across London, taking two schools from 'good' to 'outstanding' Ofsted ratings, so she brings a wealth of experience to Watford.
Her passions include science as well as improving the wellbeing and mental health of everyone in school.
The latest lockdown means Ms Bentham is unable to meet all of her pupils yet but she is looking forward to working with them virtually.
She said: "I am delighted to be working at Central Primary School. There are so many fantastic things that take place here.
"I am looking forward to getting to meet all the parents, children and staff when circumstances allow. In the meantime, I am excited to see the work that the children are completing on Google Classroom."
