A homeowner who has been creating knitted window displays for the last 15 years is hoping to spread some joy and positivity with her latest Easter-themed display.

Farzana Chaudry, who lives in Parkgate Road in Watford, has knitted an Easter and spring-themed extravaganza, featuring 18 knitted chicks and ducks, with knitted eggs on a backdrop of leaves and plants.

One of the chicks is sporting a hat in the colours of Watford football club.

Speaking about her latest project, Ms Chaudry said: "The colourful array represent how our families and friends come in an assortment of blended sizes, shapes and colours. How we should strive to accept and love each other regardless.

"It is simply to give my neighbourhood and passing folk a little lift and something to enjoy. Those passing have said it so bright and colourful and cheered them up.

"All we can hope to do, spread some joy, colour and positivity."

Ms Chaudry, who hosts a radio show on BBC Radio Three Counties every Sunday, has been creating knitted display to recognise seasonal holidays and major events for years now.

Last year, she embarked on one of her biggest creations when she paid tribute to the key workers of the Covid pandemic.

Nurses, a dcotor, surgeon, scientist, service engineer, paramedic, cleaner and a greengrocer were all knitted and display in the window of Ms Chaudry's home.

A collection of Watford footballers were knitted in the lead-up to the Hornets' FA Cup final in 2019, while Ms Chaudry has previously knitted poppies for Armistice Day, marked Harry and Meghan's Royal Wedding, the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, and even celebrated astronaut's Tim Peake's return from space.
