  • Elections in our area of Hertfordshire are a day later than some areas after Hertfordshire’s director of public health Jim McManus recommended quarantining the ballot boxes for a day to reduce any risk of transmission of coronavirus from ballot papers to counters.

  • There are a full set of Hertfordshire County Council elections taking place, with results to be announced today.

  • A third of seats are to be decided at Watford Borough Council and Three Rivers District Council, with a by-election also taking place in Watford.

  • However, counting for district seats in Three Rivers will not take place until tomorrow (Sunday).

  • There is a by-election taking place in Bushey North for a place on Hertsmere Borough Council.

  • Police and crime commissioner votes will not be counted until Monday.
