A "vibrant" Watford woman who recently celebrated her 100th birthday has revealed her key to long life - not worrying too much!
Violet Dudgeon enjoyed the milestone this month at Prince Michael of Kent Court care home with family, friends and staff by having a safely arranged tea party.
The centenarian, who worked in the distribution office for the Navy, Army and Air Force Institutes (NAAFI) during the Second World War, revealed she has always tried to relax, but joked that she had no advice for younger generations.
“What would I say to younger people," she added. "They never listen!"
Violet said she was "very lucky to be here" and has enjoyed regular calls with family during the pandemic as well as the care home's activities.

"She is always so positive and keen to join in all our initiatives.
"She is forever grateful for people’s time and always has a smile for anyone who meets her.”
The care home is run by RMBI Care and is part of the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
