Here is a round-up of those in our area who have been named in magistrates’ courts between May 1 and May 8.

  • James Andrew Mackett, 26, of Vale Road, Bushey. On July 18, 2019, the defendant used a vehicle on Bushey Grove Road when there was no insurance in force covering that use of the vehicle. Fine, costs: £287. Also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 6 months.
  • Joudan Gomez Phillips, 28, of Harwoods Road, Watford. On February 17, 2020, the defendant drove a car on A4008 Oxhey Lane at a speed exceeding the legal limit of 30 miles per hour. The speed recorded by means of Gatso GS11 was 36 miles per hour. Fine, costs: £150. Driving record endorsed with three points.
  • Jade Brimicombe, 33, of Prestwick Road, South Oxhey. On April 29, 2021, stole goods, to the value of £70/75, belonging to Sainsburys Supermarkets Ltd. Fine, costs: £211
  • David Riley, 22, of Broomfield Rise, Abbots Langley. On September 30, 2020, drove a motor vehicle on St Albans Road, Watford, after consuming so much alcohol that the proportion of it in his blood, namely 85 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, exceeded the prescribed limit. Fine, costs: £114. Also disqualified from holding or obtaining a driving licence for 12 months.
  • Ahtsham Ahmed, 28, of Cotlandswick, London Colney. On August 3, 2020, had in his possession a quantity cannabis, a controlled drug of class B. Also on July 31, 2020, had in his possession a quantity of cocaine, a controlled drug of class A. Also on July 31, used a vehicle when there was no insurance in force covering that use of the vehicle. Fine, costs: £499. Also disqualified for holding or obtaining a driving licence for 6 months.
