A Watford town centre bar is welcoming back visitors with an "Instagrammable" Paris-themed open air terrace and cocktails.

Its new St Germain terrace – named after the stylish Boulevard St Germain in Paris – overlooks High Street and national campaign manager Jack Jolly describes it as “the perfect place for that long-awaited catch-up with friends”.

The Florist Watford certainly lives up to its name with a feminine and sophisticated floral theme throughout the venue.

To celebrate its new terrace there is a limited edition cocktail menu influenced by the summer flavour of elderflower.

With its chilled music, delicate décor and warm friendly service, it’s not surprising that the venue is nearly fully booked for next week.

I tried one of the bar’s elderflower cocktails, Florist Negroni, which was smooth and flavourful - a delightful springtime aperitif.

Danny White, the new manager at the Watford branch, has just spent his first couple of days here after moving from The Florist in Liverpool, one of two others in the UK.

Warm, helpful and knowledgeable, Danny says The Florist is a destination venue and is designed to be very “Instagrammable”.

He explained that the venue is designed to cater for women and aims to attract hen parties, birthdays and other celebrations where ladies might come together.

Built as part of the shopping centre extension but accessed from High Street, the venue has views across the town centre, with trees and a church in the distance.

Its open plan design feels spacious and is vibrant, colourful and welcoming, and thanks to its spaciousness it felt very comfortable with regards to social distancing.

The Florist believes in the fundamental principles of floristry which is to charm each of the senses.

The venue invites you to step into a sensory world and discover a combination of fragrant cocktails and the art of live music.

The price of cocktails range between £6.75 to £9.95 and they also offer non-alcoholic cocktails at £4.25.

There is also a selection of gin, beer and wine.
