DRIVERS have been warned to take care in wet conditions after several incidents of cars skidding off the road, with one "ending up in a field".
Mid Sussex Police urged motorists to drive to the conditions after cars have come off the roads this morning, including a Fiat Punto in Hanlye Lane in Cuckfield.
The force said on Twitter: "Thank you for your patience whilst we dealt with a vehicle that had left the road on Hanlye Lane in Cuckfield this morning.
"Incidents like this are a reminder to please drive to the conditions.
"Nobody was hurt on this occasion."
Inspector Darren Taylor of the Mid Sussex Neighbourhood Policing unit added there was another incident in College Road in Hayward's Heath, where a car "ended up in a field".
He said: "The driver lost control on the bend due to bad weather conditions.
"There were no injuries thankfully and the vehicle has been recovered from the field.
"There's been torrential rain up here lately following a dry period, which affects the oil on the roads.
"We've seen three incidents this morning where cars have left the road.
"Just be cautious and go slowly as the roads are slippery."
