Watford club captain Troy Deeney has been fined for breaking the speed limit on a motorway.
The 32-year-old striker was ordered to pay fines totalling £409 after he was caught breaking the 70 miles per hour speed limit on the M40 motorway near Great Milton on January 20.
The incident came the day after Watford beat Barnsley 1-0 at home.
Deeney, who was driving a black Land Rover, pleaded guilty and was fined £290, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and legal costs of £85.
The case was heard at Oxford Magistrates Court earlier this month.
Deeney, who listed his address as Warwick, was not present at the hearing.
He was also given five points on his licence.
Watford FC has been contacted for comment.
In October of 2019 Deeney was slapped with fines for having dangerously tinted windows.
He was pulled over on the North Circular in his Mercedes Benz earlier in the year and police officers found his windows posed a risk and were below the legal limit for light penetration.
Deeney pleaded guilty to a charge of driving a car in a dangerous condition and was fined £650, ordered to pay £150 in costs and was given a surcharge of £65.
