A Chinook helicopter was seen soaring over Watford as paratroopers jumped from the sky.

The massive transport helicopter was spotted flying over west Watford and caught the eyes of locals today at around 2pm.

Around six people were seen parachuting in the direction of Merchant Taylor’s School in Moor Park this afternoon, and onlookers managed to capture the spectacle.

RAF Chinooks are described as 'an advanced multi-mission helicopter' and can carry vehicles, artillery pieces or up to 44 troops.

Equipped with a cargo system, it can haul 12,000kg of equipment and is capable of a maximum speed of 187mph.
