The Duchess of Cornwall is a loyal client of a local shoe designer.

In fact it has been revealed that Camilla Parker Bowles has purchased over 11 pairs of heels from the Watford-based online store Sole Bliss.

The Duchess first bought shoes from the company in June 2018, and has been pictured wearing them in some of her public outings.

Recently she bought the brand’s £179 Hero leather trainers and previously, she was seen wearing the label's Ingrid Heels.

Sole Bliss launched in 2017 when designer Lisa Kay, who lives in Bushey, looked to create fashionable and comfortable shoes for women with bunions.

Mrs Kay was a shoe designer for nearly 30 years, and kickstarted the idea for the company when she began to grow bunions herself.

She said: “My lightbulb moment for Sole Bliss came seven years ago, when I started growing a painful bump on the base of my big foot.

“I looked into just how many other women were suffering like me and I couldn’t believe the numbers – there are over 14 million bunion sufferers in the UK.

“That’s when I decided it was time to design a collection of fashionable footwear for women with bunions.”

The shoes are designed at Sole Bliss’ Watford studio and are then made in Italy and feature a design to help with issues such as bunions, plantar fasciitis and arthritis.

Talking about her reaction to seeing the Duchess with the shoes, the designer said: "I'm delighted and honoured that Her Royal Highness has chosen to wear Sole Bliss shoes.

"The first time I saw the Duchess wearing our shoes was in June 2018. I was relaxing after a day's work at my factory in Italy when my partner sent me a photo. I was so excited I spilt my drink!"

In the past, Camilla has talked about her foot complaints and troubles, with her announcing she no longer wears high heels back in 2018.

The royal-approved shoe brand has also attracted other celebrities including Kelly Brook, Dawn French and Helen Mirren among others.

Since the revelation that the Duchess is wearing Sole Bliss, the trainers were sold out in under 24 hours.
