A chef will appear in court accused of spitting in a dessert that was then served to an unsuspecting customer.

Samir Siamer, 46, of The Parade in Watford, is set to appear at St Albans Magistrates' Court tomorrow to face the charge of failing to comply with EU provision concerning food safety and hygiene.

The offence is alleged to have taken place at Creams in Rickmansworth in December 2017.

The customer is said to have eaten the dessert.

This will be the third time the case is listed for hearing.

A spokesperson for Creams said: “We can confirm that Samir Siamer was employed by Creams Rickmansworth for a few months in 2017.

"As a result of the incident in December 2017, he immediately left the business and the franchisee at Creams Rickmansworth has fully cooperated with the Council on this matter.

"Creams Rickmansworth implements the highest standards of hygiene and notably has a 5/5 star hygiene rating from the Council which it has upheld for the last four years.”
