The fire service was called to a fire at The Grove Hotel in Watford yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Hertfordshire Fire and Rescue Service was called at around 5:10pm to a report of a small fire in a second floor laundry cupboard.
A spokesman for the service said: "Two fire engines, one from Watford and one from Garston, attended the scene, where firefighters found that hotel staff had already extinguished a small fire in a second floor laundry cupboard.
"Crews ensured the fire was fully extinguished and used ventilation fans to clear the floor of smoke.
"Crews left the scene at around 6:15pm."
