There is no bond quite like that between a dog and its owner and today that unique relationship is being celebrated across Watford and beyond.

On this International Dog Day, we asked you to send in pictures and tell us a bit about the pooches you are proud of and your cute canines to help us celebrate the occasion.

We were inundated and would like to thank everyone who took the trouble to get in touch with a photo of their pet.

Sadly, we received too many to publish, but scroll down this page to enjoy 30 of the cutest and cuddliest dogs in the Watford area, together with what their owners told us about them.

International Dog Day was created to celebrate all breeds and raises public awareness of the numbers of dogs that are rescued on an annual basis.

I am only blessed to have these dogs from puppies until they are ready to go to their deaf partner, but I love them as if they are my own and am incredibly proud of everything they’ve achieved.'
