A man previously jailed for stealing perfume and make-up from Boots has been caught nabbing nearly £1,500 of skincare items in Watford.

Valentin Marin, of Monmouth Road in Edmonton, took £1,477.87 of products from the Boots store in Waterfields Retail Park on Thursday, November 25.

The 51-year-old pleaded guilty the following day and was given a 12-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months.

It comes after he was jailed for 30 weeks in July after he stole £3,100 of perfume and £618 of make-up from a Boots in Kent during three raids.

Marin also pocketed numerous tanning products from another Boots store in June worth £242.76.

They included two Skinny Tan mousse products, three Riemann sun lotions and St. Tropez Self Tan Bronzing Gel.

Following the recent Watford thefts, Marin was also ordered to pay a £128 victim services surcharge and £85 court costs.

Hatfield Magistrates' Court was told his previous record and character, along with the fact that it was premditated, were taken into account during sentencing.
