A man bravely stopped thieves getting away with an e-scooter they robbed from a boy in Watford town centre.

Police are now looking for the Good Samaritan following the robbery around 4pm on Sunday, November 21.

The 14-year-old victim had been in High Street when a group of six boys stole his e-scooter, Hertfordshire Constabulary said.

One of the thieves then sped off before a pedestrian managed to grab hold of the handlebars to ensure they did not get away.

Investigator Kirsty Treanor, from the Watford Local Crime Unit, said: “We’d like to trace the kind man who intervened in this incident, both to thank him and also to see if he can help us with our case.

“Was this person you? Do you know the Good Samaritan? If you can help, please get in contact by calling the non-emergency number 101 quoting crime reference 41/92107/21.

“If there are any other witnesses out there, or anybody with information about the incident, I would also be keen to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you think you can help.”
