A housing development named after Watford legend Graham Taylor that brings 90 affordable homes has finished construction.
Developers Thrives Home welcomed widow Rita Taylor and Watford’s Mayor to tour the completed development at St Albans Road.
The buildings– named Graham Court and Taylor Point – introduces 90 homes, available for affordable rent, shared ownership and rent to buy.
They were built on the site of a former car showroom on the corner of St John’s Road.
Peter Taylor, the Mayor of Watford, said: “It is excellent to see good-quality, affordable homes built in Watford.
“These homes will be available to local people who are not able to rent or buy the private market and will be for years to come.”
The development also marks Thrive Homes’ 5,000th home after bringing along new properties across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
Elspeth Mackenzie, the Thrive Homes chief executive, said: “Since 2008, Thrive has provided much-needed affordable homes across the home counties.
“It has taken a lot of hard work for us to reach this point, and I am looking forward to the next 5,000 as we continue to focus on increasing availability and affordability in some of the country’s most expensive areas.”
