Police have seized electronic equpment after a hoax bomb threat was made at Watford's main station.
A Twitter user shared messages yesterday (January 12) claiming they had a gun and a bomb “at Hertfordshire Constabulary” and another message suggesting they had the same weapons at Watford Junction.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says officers searched an address in Watford but no weapons were found.
Several other searches have also taken place recently, including British Transport Police looking at Watford Junction.
The messages shared are being treated as hoaxes and police spoke to a teenage boy.
Officers have placed an “appropriate support plan” for the teenager and electronic equipment has been seized.
The messages were then removed from Twitter, and after the Watford Observer contacted the social networking platform the account was suspended this morning.
