Thieves raided a home in Bushey before stealing jewellery and cash.

Hertfordshire Constabulary is investigating the burglary, which occurred in Paynesfield Road between 4pm and 4.20pm on Saturday, January 8.

Thieves had smashed the glass in a side door as they broke into the property and raided the address.

Several items of family gold jewellery were stolen along with a quantity of cash, police said.

Detectives have now released an image of a distinctive necklace which was stolen in an attempt to trace it and return it to its rightful owner.

Detective Constable Gemma Haines, from the Hertsmere Local Crime Unit said: “The necklace is quite distinctive and I am hoping that anyone who has seen it, perhaps being offered for sale, will remember doing so. If you have, please contact me.

“I’d also like to hear from anyone who may have any other information about the burglary. Did you see or hear anything suspicious in the area at the time? Any information at all could assist our ongoing enquiries.”
