Businesses will be coming together next week to help creative young people’s budding careers.

Watford marketing agency Brolly Marketing are hosting a ‘Digital Marketing 101’ webinar on Tuesday, in partnership with Enemy of Boredom and the Watford and West Herts Chamber of Commerce.

This free virtual event that will bring together businesses in Hertfordshire, London and further afield to teach young people about careers in digital marketing.

The aim of the webinar is to provide an insight into the marketing world, helping young people to understand how they can appeal to potential employers and what they need to do to secure their dream job in digital marketing.

Attendees will be able to discover what different roles in marketing are really like, and what career paths are available. They will also have the opportunity to network with inspiring business people and other like-minded young people, as well as participate in Q&A sessions with the speakers.

Any young person interested in a career in marketing, communications, PR, gaming or associated sectors is invited to attend, as well as marketing professionals wanting to find out how to support people joining the industry, and other professionals looking to change career.

The event will be presented by young people for young people, with a variety of inspiring speakers from a broad range of companies and organisations across different industries. They will be talking about their various career journeys and offering valuable advice to young creatives.

Representatives of Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, Watford FC, The Body Shop, One YMCA and eBay are among those due to attend and event organiser Sharon Shapiro of Brolly Marketing said: “We’re really happy to have so many exciting companies joining us.

“This event will give young people an insight into what their careers could potentially look like, as well as how to achieve their ambitions – after all, you’ve got to see it to be it.”

The webinar will also provide insight to careers advisors, parents, and those who work with young people, or anyone interested in the topics covered.

Topics of discussion will include social media, content creation, PR, inclusion and diversity, the gaming industry, and recruitment.
