HMV will return to Watford nearly three years after it closed its doors.

In February 2019, it was announced that the Watford branch at the former intu shopping centre would shut, after it was saved from administration.

Jobs are already being advertised for an upcoming store that will be at the lower mall in the Atria shopping centre.

According to applications for the music retailer, it will take up units 2 and 3.

Last year, owners Sunrise Records announced plans to open 10 new HMV shops and make its return to UK high streets.

Doug Putman, the CEO of Sunrise said that HMV hopes to set up business so that “it’s still here in another 100 years’ time”.

Under Mr Putman’s reign, HMV has been pushing vinyl records to stay relevant on top of its traditional CDs, DVDs, and other merchandise related to music, film and TV.

HMV was approached for further information.
