The installation of a defibrillator in a parade of shops has been hailed as "great news" amid plans for another one nearby.

The life-saving medical equipment will be available 24 hours a day on the wall of Chemilab Pharmacy in North Approach on the Kingswood estate in Watford.

The defibrillator has been funded by Stanborough and Woodside county councillor Tim Williams.

Cllr Williams said: “It's great news that we have got this installed at this location, and I know it has been well received by the local community.

"A big thanks go to Chemilab and to Nixuss Computer Repair Centre for their total support of this project.”

The three borough councillors in Stanborough will take on responsibility for ongoing maintenance of the device.

There are also plans to install another defibrillator by the shops in Haines Way in Leavesden Green.

Led by the Leavesden Community Group and funded by Cllr Williams, there is a hope it will be available in the coming months.
