A proposal to convert a former educational centre at a water works is among the planning applications submitted to Watford, Three Rivers, Hertsmere and Dacorum councils.

Agents acting for Affinity Water have applied to Hertsmere Borough Council for permission to change the use of the building to office space at the Three Valleys Water Reservoir and Pumping Station in Bushey Heath.

A planning supporting statement with the application states the change of use is required to enable the relocation of Affinity's on site customer services team from its temporary location in Wembley.

Permission was granted in September 1996 for the environmental teaching centre but it was closed before the Covid pandemic "due to security concerns related to proximity to the Critical

National Infrastructure site at Clay Lane and the adjacent Bushey Heath reservoirs".
