In a busy May for the county’s courts, here are nine sets of Hertfordshire criminals who have been jailed this month.

Li Neng Leong

Li Neng Leong, 38, of Haseldine Road, London Colney, was among six gang members jailed at Preston Crown Court on May 19.

He was sentenced to 12 months in prison after admitting conspiracy to control prostitution.

Lancashire Constabulary’s East Exploitation Team launched its probe into nationwide sexual exploitation and human trafficking in September last year, after reports of sexual services were advertised online.

Andrew Eyton

Andrew Eyton - of Monkswood Gardens in Borehamwood - was sentenced to 20 months in prison on April 26, having pleaded guilty to GBH without intent at St Albans Crown Court.

The 47-year-old's sentencing follows the discovery of an unconscious man in Shenley Road on October 14, 2022.

CCTV footage revealed that the individual had been subject to an "unprovoked attack", causing a significant head injury.

Eyton was then identified, arrested and charged before being remanded into custody.

Hasan Abusheikha, Elmo Emanuel and Jawid Khan

Hasan Abusheikha, of Church Street in Hemel Hempstead, was sentenced following a trial at St Albans Crown Court where he was found guilty of theft, fraud and bribery.

The former theatre manager at St Albans City Hospital was jailed for 11 years for his part in a fraud that cost the NHS £600,000.

Elmo Emanuel, 74, of Station Road in Wingate, County Durham, who ran medical equipment suppliers Implants International and Xtremity Solutions, was also convicted of bribing Abusheikha and jailed for 28 months.

Mohammad Islam and Mohammed Rahim

Mohammad Islam, 35, of Cromwell Road, Luton, pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin), and was jailed for seven years.

Mohammed Rahim, 28, of Trinity Road, Luton, also pleaded guilty to conspiracy to supply class A drugs (crack cocaine and heroin) and was sentenced to five years and six months in prison.

The two men operated the ‘B’ line in the town, between December 2022 and March 2023, bringing in heroin and crack cocaine from Luton. 

Kimberley Davis and Shane Anderson

Kimberley Davis, 33, and Shane Anderson, 41, both of Lincoln Close in Welwyn Garden City, were sentenced at St Albans Crown Court, having pleaded guilty to supplying class A drugs between January and July 2022.

Davies was sentenced to two years behind bars, while Anderson was jailed for three years and nine months.

Omar Aziz, Malik Aziz, and Samir Mustafa

Malik Aziz, 24, Omar Aziz, 24 of Eastwood Street, Streatham, and Samir Mustafa, 24, of Stone Street, Reading, was sentenced after pleading guilty to conspiracy to supply crack cocaine and heroin among other crimes.

On January 18, 2022, officers from Operation Orochi, the Met Police's specialist team dedicated to tackling offenders involved in county lines drugs supply, raided an address in Hatfield.

Inside, they found two boys, aged 14 and 15, who had been reported missing from London.

Lee Chapman, of West View in Letchworth, was sentenced to four years and three months behind bars after appearing at St Albans Crown Court, having previously pleaded guilty to theft and harassment.

In February 2022, the 33-year-old purchased two vehicles from an elderly couple, but returned a few days later, asking if he had left his bank card behind.

Over time, Chapman began to engage in conversation claiming money troubles and eventually over £30,000 was handed over to him.

Terence Thatcher

Registered sex offender Terence Thatcher, 56, of Bury Mead in Arlesey, was arrested in February this year after Bedfordshire Police carried out a warrant at his home address.

Officers seized a mobile phone containing more than 1,100 indecent images of children, along with two prohibited and five extremely pornographic images.

Richard Styles

Richard Styles, 53, from St Albans, was arrested at Deenethorpe Airfield near Corby, Northamptonshire, in March 2022.

He had just flown his twin-engine plane to the airfield from Belgium, carrying three men and a woman who were all attempting to evade immigration checks.

Also involved in the plot were Silvano Turchet and Vijayakumar Sivakumar.
