From eager children looking for a sought-after gift to keen-eyed collectors searching for that missing piece, toy and model fairs remain popular with plenty of people to this day.
These pictures from the Watford Observer archive show there was plenty of interest when a toy and model fair was held at the Town Hall in September 1990.
Only a few photos from our photographer’s visit are available but they show one man looking very closely at a model railway coach, while the attention of a younger visitor was seemingly caught by a toy on sale from a crisp box.
We all get older but many of us never lose our love and enthusiasm for toys and models as these images show.
