A Watford road was blocked for part of the morning commute after a crash left a driver hospitalised.

Herts Police have confirmed that officers and the ambulance service were called to the scene of a crash in Eastbury Road, near the junction with Oxhey Road, at around 7.15am this morning (November 16).

Two cars were involved and one driver was taken to Watford General Hospital so that they could receive treatment.

The force put a southbound road closure in place and traffic was delayed as the scene was cleared. Hertfordshire Highways warned motorists to avoid the area.

The remaining delays had mostly cleared by 9.30am and police thanked motorists for their patience.
