Stylists at a Watford salon think they “stand a good chance” after featuring on the Salon Awards shortlist.
Rebel Rebel Hair Studio, in Villiers Road, Oxhey, is up for ‘best salon’ and ‘most sustainable salon’ in Hertfordshire area on the first night of the awards (November 2).
Owner Sarah Daglish also found out she had been shortlisted individually on Thursday (August 1) for the ‘colourist of the year’ and ‘stylist of the year’ categories.

Sarah, 42, said she was “absolutely thrilled” to be up for the prizes.
“It’s a really great sign of achievement. I think it’s fantastic, especially for the studio,” she added.
“It’s just really, really great to be recognised.”
Asked what she thought of her chances, the Watford resident says she and her salon should “stand a good chance”, particularly in the sustainability category because it was part of the business’ founding ethos.
Rebel Rebel plants trees to offset carbon emissions and recycles used foil and hair, among other sustainable practices.
It is a co-working space, rather than a traditional salon, meaning the stylists operating out of it are independent, and Sarah says this is what she thinks sets it apart.
She said her fellow hair stylists are “brilliant” and “absolutely make” Rebel Rebel.
