A man has been jailed for 24 weeks after a Hertfordshire police chase thought to have topped 130mph.
A vehicle which failed to stop for the county's road policing officers in Furzehill Road, Borehamwood, at around 1.30am yesterday (October 8) then sped off northbound onto the A1(M).
It is then believed to have travelled at more than 130mph, while undertaking other vehicles, a Herts Police spokesperson shared this morning.

“After coming off the carriageway and trying to re-join it, the vehicle lost control at Bignells Corner due to standing water,” the spokesperson added.
“It ended up facing the wrong way. Police then tactically stopped the vehicle to prevent any further risk to the public.”

Sulo Sinanaliaj, 34, of Filebrook Avenue in Enfield, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, and driving a motor vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence.
He was then charged and remanded with the same offences and appeared before Hatfield Magistrates Court later that day. Sinanaliaj pleaded guilty and was given a 24-week prison sentence.
The road policing unit shared a picture of the car off the road after bringing the chase to a safe conclusion "despite the awful weather conditions".
It added that the driver “will also be dealt with for immigration offences”.
