A man has been ordered to pay £3,450 after admitting to drink driving in Watford town centre.
Dinesh Maheswaran, of Hindhead Green, Watford, appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, October 31, having pleaded guilty to driving a car while the level of alcohol in his breath was over the limit.
According to court documents, he had 93 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he drove the black Jaguar in The Wellstones on May 12. The legal limit is 35 micrograms per 100 millilitres.
The 37-year-old was disqualified from driving for 23 months starting from October 1 and fined £2,000. He was also ordered to pay £650 in costs, and an £800 surcharge.

Lewis Dempsey, of High Elms Lane, Watford, appeared in St Albans Magistrates’ Court on November 5 and admitted to driving a car while the level of alcohol in his breath was over the limit.
He was disqualified from driving for 20 months and fined £769, as well as being ordered to pay £85 in costs and a £308 surcharge.
The 31-year-old driven a grey BMW in Ashwood Road, Potters Bar, on October 19, according to court documents. He had 78 micrograms of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at the time.
