Watford Junction services are set to be cancelled for hours after a person was hit by a train.
At 2.20pm, National Rail confirmed that all lines were closed between the station and Milton Keynes Central.
"A person has been hit by a train between Milton Keynes Central and Watford Junction," a service disruption alert said.

According to London Northwestern Railway, emergency services had been called to an incident near Bletchley.
Avanti West Coast and London Northwestern Railway trains running between the two towns will be cancelled, delayed by up to 90 minutes, or revised with “major disruption” expected to last until 5.30pm this afternoon (November 27).

London Northwestern Railway has requested replacement buses to run between Milton Keynes and Watford.
Ticket acceptance is in place via any reasonable route on TfL and Southern Rail trains while East Midlands Railway services between Kettering and St Pancras or Chiltern Railway services between Birmingham Moor Street and Marylebone can also be used.
Update 2 (November 28): A British Transports Police Spokesperson said: “Officers were called to Bletchley railway station just after 2pm yesterday (November 27) following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended, however sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
