The landlord of a former pub in Watford High Street is the subject of an enquiry from Mrs P Sanderson, of Newton Common, near Newbury.
Mrs Sanderson said: “I’m endeavouring to research William Frederick Sanderson, who ran the Rose and Crown pub in High Street, Watford, from 1898 to 1911/12. There was a new incumbent in the directories for 1912.
“I do not know about his arrival in Watford or departure therefrom.”
