Dick Turpin Ransom Ride Watford to Windsor Great Park Sunday, June 21 2009 - Stand and DELIVER!

Fancy yourself as a bit of an outlaw?!

You do?! Well, come and join the Dick Turpin Ransom Ride in Watford this June in aid of Muscular Dystrophy Campaign!

The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign leads the fight against muscle disease. We provide free care and support for babies, children and adults affected by muscle disease, fund world-class research to find treatments and cures, provide grants towards equipment and campaign to raise awareness and bring about change. The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign has just been named as Tesco's Charity of the Year 2009.

The Dick Turpin Ransom Ride is a new charity cycle is made up of two very different routes. The first route is from Riverside Recreation Park along the stunning Ebury Way cycle network route to Rickmansworth which all the family can enjoy. The second picks up from Rickmansworth and cyclists follow this 40kms route to beautiful Windsor Great Park! This route is aimed at proficient cyclists over 17 years of age.

The inspiration behind the event was the famed Dick Turpin robbery of a Chandler’s shop in Watford and his frequent visits to the Hind’s Head Inn in Bracknell which had a tunnel into an adjoining pub for a fast getaway when the authorities started closing in on him.

To follow each of the two routes, we’re looking for “Turpins” to cycle from Watford towards Turpin's hideaway in Bracknell, finishing in spectacular Great Windsor Park! Enter on your own or with a team!

There is an entry fee of £10 per person on both routes. We ask those who take part in the first stage of the cycle to raise a minimum of £30 for our charity, and for the second stage, we ask people to raise a minimum of £60.

Raise over £50 and get a Dick Turpin mask to wear on the day!
