Before we begin......let me go grab my soap box, because it’s rants galore this week. Starting with Monday afternoon, I spent over two and a half hours on the phone to BT going back and forth between the Indian call centre and the centre based here while they argued over who was and wasn’t giving me the right information, it was a case of ,OH YES IT IS .......OH NO IT ISN’T . Quite frankly I didn’t give a Jack and the beanstalk, all I wanted was for someone to speed up our computer..................

Back in September having been told our old BT voyager 210 router was....well....old, we were advised to get a new one so we opted for the hub, easy, but then it took two hours of incompetence for someone to book me an engineer and nine departments later someone actually managed to do it....HURRAY .

Only problem was it’s been much slower than our old router which didn’t seem right so I phoned to ask why? The Indian call centre were adamant we were on a 1MB fixed rate, anyone who buys a hub is automatically put on it for stability apparently and the only way to speed up our service was to upgrade to option 2.

When enquiring who? Why? And when? someone changed us to 1Mb without asking and how much option 2 would cost me, they couldn’t tell me, they could only change me over to option 2 but if I wanted to know prices I’d have to speak to the sales and packages department..............BOOOOOOOOO, HISSSSSSS.

Back in UK Wonderland the sales and packages team were adamant there was no fixed rate, it only applied to people who abused the system with downloads.... So there was nothing for it, I held my hands up at this point and admitted to downloading an old Barry Manilow track but pleaded in my defence that it was for my mum and not for me...honest. I was relieved to hear they didn’t count this as abuse ( although many would) and they advised me to go back to the Indian call centre and tell them there is no fixed rate and to speed up our computer. To cut a two and a half hour story short a lady at the Indian call centre finally said they’d sorted it ........OH NO THEY HAVEN’T.

I still don’t know why we were locked on a 1MB rate, or why we couldn’t be left on Option 1 which had always been sufficient, and they’ve now put us onto a more expensive package we don’t need, so I’ve written a complaint letter to the customer services manager and will let you know as soon as they respond.

Onto the second rant, nothings been done about the two Asian criminals who left my nephew lying unconscious in the road with a shattered leg and drove off.

If that wasn’t bad enough last weekend my friends Uncle who lives locally got a phone call from his young son who’d sneaked over to the local shops without telling them, he’d called to say there was a large group of black teenagers blocking the path he had to return on and they were letting off fireworks and he was too scared to pass.

So the dad went to fetch him and politely asked the group to stop letting the fireworks off, explaining that his young son had been too scared to pass them. With that a couple of them jumped him and they all joined in and beat him up in front of his young song.

The police were called and their response was to tell the father to go to hospital and get himself checked over but if there were no broken bones or bleeding to the brain not to bother reporting it because they couldn’t do anything...........now this is the point a joker jumps out and we all laugh and scream BEHIIIIIND YOUUUUUU!!!!! Right?....... Wrong, no joke and that’s how it was left.

I cant help thinking that in both incidences if the victims had been non-white and the criminals white the police would have been jumping through hoops and it would’ve been splashed across the front of the local paper how racist thugs had... blah blah blah, so why does it rarely happen the other way round? I can’t even think of a case where it has, and why are our lives no longer given the same value?

The problem is we have such a pathetically soft system here in the UK where every Tom, Dick & Harry can do whatever they want, get whatever they want and cry foul whenever they’re caught. As I’ve mentioned in a past blog, a police officer can’t say boo to a grey goose now without being disciplined, sent for retraining and having it put on their records which could then effect any future promotion and so they quite rightly don’t want to risk their careers.

Which just means if you’re white and at the receiving end of crime by the hands of non-white you haven’t got a hope in hell. I’m sure the majority of law abiding British citizens of all colours would agree that we should all be treated equally, but while the government continue to tip toe and pander for fear of not wanting to offend other races the situations only going to get worse, and It’s frightening that we have a situation where our governments attitude is now forcing authorities to be racist towards its own race.

Am I ranted out yet?............. In a word, NOOOoooooooo. (Cue evil Panto laugh)

I didn’t confess last week but when I went to the doctors I actually mentioned being worried about heart problems, I’m knocking on a bit now and what with the M.E I can’t exercise like women of a certain should and I’m concerned that M.E symptoms are putting a strain on my organs. www.afme.org.uk

The doctor replied that I’m not overweight, I look good...although he obviously stopped short at saying I look like Cheryl Cole, I don’t smoke, rarely drink, eat healthily and genetically I have a mother with a healthy lifestyle too, therefore I have nothing to worry about, because if we’re talking risk I would only be in the 1% group. Far from being reassured, my theory is his bloody well covered himself there, because if I did drop down dead from a heart attack his just gonna say “Aww what a shame, she was obviously that 1%”.

Onto music, I’m not happy with how the recording of “Say” has been going and have stopped while I take it back to the drawing board. It’s frustrating because of the money that’s already been spent on it.

My vocals should at least sound half decent before the producer gets to twiddle the effect knobs but I don’t think they do and the songs just not gelling as a whole. These are all normal problems for a music artist but I guess I get more frustrated because due to the exhaustion of M.E I have trouble getting any strength in my vocals and then when I do manage to record, I lose the ability to swallow properly again for at least three weeks, you don’t mind taking the consequences if things are going right but if they go wrong it makes the suffering even more frustrating. But onwards and upwards, I’ll hopefully sort it out this weekend and get my ass back in the studio soon.
