A college in Bushey is looking forward to a new religious addition later this month.
Immanuel College is celebrating the commissioning of a brand new sefer torah, a scroll of Jewish Law, for use at the school’s daily prayers.
Naomi Cowan, marketing and development director for the college, said: “This is the first time that the college has bought its own sefer and it is one of the biggest ‘mitzvot’, or positive commandments that can be done by Jewish people.”
The Chief Rabbi, plus other dignitaries and donors will gather on Monday, November 16, at 8.30am for whole-school prayers.
