A serving prisoner alleged to have caused more than £5,000 damage to the roof of HMP The Mount has had his case adjourned for psychiatric reports.
John Banks, 35, is accused of destroying roofs, windows and aerials on the roof of the Bovingdon prison on June 22, last year.
Banks, who is not due for release until next year, appeared at St Albans Crown Court today where his defence requested an adjournment for a psychiatric assessment before entering pleas.
Banks also faces similar allegations at Basildon Crown Court.
Judge John Plumstead adjourned the case until Thursday, December 10.
