A 21-year-old alleged to have allowed his American Pitbull Terrier to bite someone and to have assaulted him as well has denied both allegations.
Antoine Jones is alleged to have been the owner of an American Pitbull Terrier, which he allowed to get out of control and injure John MacDonald in Coldharbour Lane, Bushey on Sunday, May 24.
Jones, of Barnes Court, Islington, is also charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm of Mr MacDonald on the same day.
Jones pleaded not guilty to the charges at St Albans Crown Court.
Judge John Plumstead adjourned the case for trial after February 1, 2010.
The defendant had his unconditional bail extended until that date.
