Robots are to provide students from a school in Bovingdon with a whole new learning experience.
Starting from tomorrow, Key Stage 2 pupils from Bovingdon Primary School will have the opportunity to experience new and exciting developments in the use of Information and Communication Technology.
Bovingdon Primary School headteacher Martin Mangan said: “This two-day event promises to be one of the highlights in the school year.
“It has taken a long time to come to fruition – a great deal of planning and organisation has been needed beforehand.
“Children and staff will experience a fun two days sharing their current ICT prowess with others and also experiencing a wide range of new activities and opportunities.”
As part of the interactive programme, pupils will also be asked to bring a hand-held device of their choice such as a mobile phone or iPod, into school.
Claire Hughes, teaching and learning resources manager for Bovingdon Primary School, said: “We want pupils to simply play, share and show their friends and teachers, but more importantly for us, the adults, we want to see how children engage with such devices and how we might consider using them in school to promote learning.
“This is a hot topic in education at the moment and we hope that the children will really enjoy these sessions”.
