CHANGES to children's health services will be discussed at a public inquiry next month.

The patient and public involvement forum for west Hertfordshire will hold the inquiry on Wednesday, December 1, at Manor House Sports and Social Club in Gallows Hill Lane, Abbots Langley.

There are a number of changes planned for the way hospital services for children are delivered in west Hertfordshire.

These include the consolidation of all inpatient beds to a new ward at Watford General Hospital. It is proposed to develop a children's rapid assessment unit and a planned day unit at Hemel Hempstead Hospital. The rapid assessment unit at Watford General will remain.

The inquiry will enable residents to examine the proposals and put questions to the health professionals involved.

The event takes place between 10am and 3pm. Lunch will be provided.
