A MAN from Abbots Langley will swop his bank job for a once in a lifetime opportunity to work with nature in Kangaroo Island, Australia.

Mr David Green, 45, of Harlech Road, Abbots Langley, was chosen by employers HSBC, to take part in a two week expedition to study echidnas and goannas, as part of a five year eco-partnership between HSBC, and environmental charity Earthwatch.

Mr Green, administration manager at HSBC Group Training College, in Smug Oak Lane, Bricket Wood, will jet off to Australia on Wednesday, October 9, to take part in the HSBC Environmental Fellowship, and Investing in Nature Programme.

His days will be spent tracking and monitoring the daily activities of echidnas and goannas, however, the island is also home to wallabies, sea lions, several species of Kangaroos, orchids and a 130 species of bird.
